HOSA (Future Health Professionals) Plans Blood Drive with Inova Blood Donor Services

HOSA students in all our Health and Medical course have been working diligently to prepare for their annual blood drive. Students are thrilled to partner again with Inova for this life-saving event. In January 2022, the American Red Cross declared its first-ever national blood crisis. A joint statement by the American Hospital Association, the American Medical Association and the American Nurses Association said that the “severity and duration of this shortage could significantly jeopardize the ability of health care providers to meet the many urgent needs of our patients and communities.”  Students that wish to donate must weigh over 110lbs and be 16 years of age with parent permission.  Students can sign up with their Academy instructor or during all lunches at CHS. The blood drive will take place on March 15th and 16th

Chantilly Academy Website Recognized as "Best of the Web"

Congratulations to the Chantilly Academy Career Experience Specialist and website administrator Ms. Bonnie Wannett. The Chantilly academy website was recognized as 'Best of the Web' for 2021!

The Best of the Web Awards annually recognizes three elementary schools, one middle school, one secondary or high school, and one special center or academy.

Below is the write-up from the FCPS news release.

Current and prospective students (and their parents) appreciate the detailed information Bonnie Wannett includes on webpages featuring the Academy’s 29 skills-based courses. For example, the Academy's Dental Careers course webpage welcomes readers with a video from the instructor, a course description, a list of certifications offered, examples of student career pathways, and a list of industry connections and program partnerships. In addition, a registration page offers a 5-minutes virtual open house, as well as videos from both staff and current students, who speak of the benefits of taking Academy courses.
