Come marvel at the creativity, and celebrate young artists and their teachers! Details are here.

NOT Attending Langley Next School Year?

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, it is very helpful to know if you don’t plan on returning to us.  If your student will NOT be attending Langley HS in the 22-23SY, please complete the intention form linked below and submit it to Ms. Gratz at mjgratz@fcps.edu as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance! IT-110 Student Intention Form

Student Representative to the School Board

Each year, FCPS students can apply for the position of the student representative to the School Board. The student rep is not a member of the School Board but serves in a nonvoting, advisory capacity, representing the interests of FCPS students.

Students currently in grades 9-11 are eligible to apply. Applicants do not need to be current members of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. Applications are due by Wed, Mar 23. Click here for more information.

FCPS Laptop

Please encourage your student to fully charge their FCPS laptop every night and use this laptop daily in school.  FCPS student laptops are sent weekly updates and are forced to restart to receive the updates.  A FCPS laptop that is not frequently used may be several updates and forced restarts behind and may experience issues when it is used again. Any student that is experiencing an issue with an FCPS laptop or application can find more information on support here.

Join Langley's Psychologist and Social worker for a discussion about some of the challenges of parenting today. In anticipation of best-selling author Julie Lythcott-Haims' visit to McLean in April to present the talk "Throw out the Checklisted Childhood: Tips and Strategies for Raising Successful Kids," the PTSA is hosting a Langley parent book talk on Julie's most-acclaimed book, How to Raise an Adult, on Mar 23, 11 am, in the Lecture Hall. No worries if you haven't read the book--all are welcome to join in! School Psychologist Anna Davis and School Social Worker Catherine Kennedy will facilitate the discussion and share their thoughts on the aspects of the book that are especially relevant to Langley families. Click here to purchase the book from Amazon.

Have you donated a leaf for Langley's Legacy Tree? The PTSA just received shipment of all outstanding Legacy Tree leaves, birds, and acorn orders, which will soon be placed upon the Legacy Tree next week.

Thanks to the 528 generous Langley families who've donated a leaf to make the renovation of the first two of Langley's three courtyards possible.

One more courtyard to landscape! Consider helping to "grow" the Legacy Tree and complete the courtyard renovation project by donating a leaf (copper $50, silver $100, gold $200) or bird or acorn ($500). You choose the engraved message. The Legacy Tree -- located across from the school's Main Office--will be a permanent, prominent record of courtyard contributors and a lasting legacy for Langley and your family. Leaves also make great tributes to teachers, friends, coaches, and grads!

LAST CALL FOR PLAQUE DONORS! Those who donate $1,000 or more by the end of the month will be included on the Courtyard Benefactor Plaque, which will be adjacent to the Legacy Tree. Your contribution of $1,000 includes your choice of six gold leaves or two birds or acorns.

To order your leaf -- or leaves! -- visit the PTSA website.
