Our sixth grade students loved showing their skills in the student vs. staff volleyball game yesterday!
From the Principal's Desk:
Dear Families,
I am excited to share a new resource that will soon be available to all Louise Archer students to support learning. All FCPS students will have unlimited access to online tutoring support services through Tutor.com at no cost.
Students can connect online any time, and in most subjects for as long as they need. Tutoring is focused instruction provided to students in a one-on-one format through voice or text chat. Tutors will focus on developing students’ strengths and capabilities in reading, mathematics, or other specified subjects. Tutoring services may be accessed before, during, or after school hours and/or on weekends through a link in Schoology.
All tutors must pass a rigorous application process including an extensive background check. No personal information is shared between a student and tutor. All sessions are recorded and transcripts are available for review by teachers and parents/guardians.
Students will automatically have access to the Tutor.com tutoring service unless a parent/guardian submits an opt-out request. Watch for an email soon that will include the online tutoring services notice and opt-out information.
For additional information, visit our online tutoring services website. As always, please contact us if you have any questions.
Louise Archer Spring Picture Day
We have scheduled spring pictures for March 22nd. This will be an opportunity for us to take class pictures this year. Students will be given the opportunity to take off their mask for a moment to take the class picture if they want. Please talk with your child if this is something you prefer them not to do and they can wear their mask for the picture as well.
Visitor Parking
If you are a visitor to our school during the school day, please park in the Louise Archer parking lot. Do not park in the church parking lot across the street because they have been towing cars parked there. Parking is only allowed there with an FCPS tag or special permission for an event.
School Social Worker Appreciation
Last week we celebrated our social worker, Beth Jackson! We are so fortunate to have her here at Louise Archer supporting and advocating for our students and families every day!

Please see below for the spring Standards of Learning (SOL) testing schedule for students in grades 3-6. More information will be forthcoming. If you have further questions, you can reach out to your child’s teacher or Mrs. Condra, our testing coordinator.

Family Engagement Survey 2021 – 2022
On Sunday, March 13, you should have received an email from Fairfax County Public Schools via K12 Insight regarding FCPS’ Family Engagement Survey. Your feedback is critical in helping to inform and improve our practices to best support our students. Taking this survey will also help strengthen the partnership between your family and our school. When that partnership is strong, students can experience a range of benefits including improved school readiness, higher student achievement, and better social skills and behavior.
Please visit the Family Engagement Survey webpage for more information and look for the survey that was delivered to your inbox on March 13. Your voice matters!
School Laptop Information
Now that we have (hopefully) passed the chance for inclement weather, we will no longer require students in grades K-3 to bring them home on weekends. If there is a possibility of snow or other related weather, we will direct the teachers to send home the laptops. Otherwise, they will remain at school, unless the teacher has a need for students to access them at home for a specific assignment. This will help alleviate the heavy lifting for so many students. In the upper grades, laptop use at home will depend on the needs at each grade level.
Upcoming Calendar Events
