Spring SEL Screener Information
SEL Screener Spring Window
All students in grades K-12 will participate in the SEL screener this spring. The spring SEL screener window is scheduled April 12 to May 6.
Options to opt out are included in the attached flier and are due no later than Friday, April 8. If you have opted your student out earlier this school year, there is no need to complete the form again. If you haven’t already, please take FCPS’ Family Engagement Survey today! Your feedback is critical in helping to inform and improve FCPS’ practices to best support our students. Survey topics include:

SCA Information
Hello Deer Park Families!
We would like to express our gratitude for a very successful 2.22.22 canned food drive! In total, Deer Park families donated 445 pounds of food to families in need in the Fairfax community. We couldn’t be more proud of the efforts of our SCA Officers and Class Representatives, the PTA, and each Deer Park student and family for making this happen. Well done!
Stay tuned…In April, the SCA will sponsor two simultaneous drives to benefit children in Ukraine. More information will come out on these crucial endeavors the week after Spring Break.

The Book Fair is coming!
The Spring Book Fair will be here the week of April 18th-22nd!
Our preview days will be Monday, the 18th and part of Tuesday the 19th.
We will also have a Family Night on Wednesday the 20th until 7:00 p.m.
This year our PTA DEI committee has graciously collected one book for each student and will have these books for distribution at the Book Fair.

Tutor.com-Online Tutoring Services
FCPS students will have unlimited access to 24/7, on demand, online tutoring support services through Tutor.com. Students can connect online any time and in most subjects for however long they need. Tutors will focus on developing your child's strengths and capabilities in reading, mathematics, or other specified subjects. Find out more here: online tutoring services.
Your student will automatically have access to the Tutor.com tutoring service unless a parent/guardian submits an opt-out request via SIS ParentVue or return a signed copy of the Opt-Out form to the school office.

6th Grade Promotion Ceremony

The Deer Park traditional awards ceremony for our Sixth grade students will be held on the last day of school, June 10th, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. in the gym.
6th Grade Parents are invited to join us for this special in-person event as we celebrate and say farewell to all our 6th graders! Please mark your calendars for this special event.
SOL Testing Schedule
Students in grades 3-6 will be taking the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) tests between April 27 to May 19. Please avoid scheduling trips or appointments that would take your child out of school during this time period.

We look at the best environment and relationships when determining placement and cannot accept requests for specific teachers. Completing this form is not required.

Clothing and Household Goods Fundraiser Update
Thank you Deer Park! We donated a total weight of 2733lbs, raising $460.00 for our school! Thank you to all who helped donate household items and clothing!
