HORNET HAPPENINGS
March 4, 2022
Hello Halley Families,
Welcome to March! We are looking forward to enjoying warmer days. Last month we loved celebrating Kindness Week as we continue to uphold our caring culture. We have been engaging in conversations with students about understanding the importance of our words and how what we say can impact others. Please reinforce with your child(ren) that it is not appropriate to tease others, even if they think they are just joking. We will continue to emphasize ways we can fill each other’s buckets and contribute small acts of kindness to our community. We want everyone to feel loved and welcomed.
On Tuesday, March 1st, masks became optional for all students and staff. The day, as well as the rest of the week, went smoothly. Respect for each individual’s decision was respected and honored. The admin team is choosing to model both the wearing of the mask, as well as not wearing the mask. We want students and staff to know either decision is valued. We are continuing to practice social distancing, hand washing/sanitizing, and disinfection of high touch areas. We will continue to do our part to provide a safe and healthy learning environment. We remain grateful for your partnership and support, as we move towards better days ahead.
It is that time of year to begin registering for our future hornets. If you have a rising kindergartener or may know a neighbor who has a rising student, please encourage them to call the school and schedule an appointment to register as soon as possible. We will be hosting an in-person Kindergarten Orientation at the end of the month, and the best way to keep those families informed is when they are already registered. We look forward to meeting our new students! Please see more information below!
Thank you for your continued support as we navigate the second half of the school year together.
Blessings and Joy - Your principals,
Kerry Peerman, Paula Johnson-Tyler, and Lucy Zamora
