Meet Yahaira Hanon, our new FLES Teacher
Hello! My name is Yahaira Hanon. I am excited to be teaching Spanish at Little Run Elementary. This is my second year working at FCPS. I previously taught at a bilingual elementary school in my country for three years, and later at Loudoun County in a program for vulnerable children, also for three years. I have a Master’s degree with an endorsement in Spanish. I come from Nicaragua and I moved to Virginia with my family, six years ago. I live in Loudoun County with my husband and four sons. In my free time I enjoy making crafts, travelling, and watching sports and movies with my husband Roberto, and four boys Roberto (19), Jose (18), Eduardo (16), and Gabriel (14). I love to spend time with my family.

Clarification of Changes to COVID Protocols
Masking:
- It is optional for students and staff to wear masks in school or on school buses (as of March 1, 2022).
- Please have a conversation with your child about your family's preference and the importance of respecting other families' choices.
- We know there are multiple reasons why parents/guardians may want their child to continue to wear masks or not wear masks.
- Teachers are not able to keep track of parents' preferences on mask wearing during the day, so it is important that your child knows your wishes.
Notifications:
- We will send an email each day to notify you of positive cases reported to us that day. If there are no reported cases, you won't see an email.
- You will no longer receive the summary email on Fridays for the previous week.
- Schools are no longer conducting contact tracing to identify close contacts and will only track cases to determine if there is an outbreak in a classroom, grade level, or larger group.
