Welcome Ms. Ulsh! It was fun having you visit Friday morning and we cannot wait for you to start on Tuesday. Lemon Road also celebrated Valentine’s Day & the 100th Day of school this week bringing us so much joy. Wednesday, the Lifetouch photographer was at school capturing club & candid photos throughout the school grounds. The PTA held a fabulous meeting Wednesday evening when Mrs. Busch and Mrs. Norton were able to highlight upcoming important events. Finally, on Thursday, our awesome 6th graders and staff participated in a competitive but incredibly fun volleyball tournament - this is one of our favorite annual traditions. Thank you parents and guardians for supporting each of these events and especially for having your child wear their school polo on Wednesday. A final thank you to Mrs. Morales and Mrs. Stokoe for their time Wednesday morning supporting the execution of our club photos!
On Friday we look forward to celebrating all February birthdays with hat day! Encourage your child to wear any style hat on Friday to participate in this fun SCA Spirit Day!
Enjoy tomorrow’s holiday - we look forward to seeing your children on Tuesday ~ Mrs. Castillo
Food helps bring people together, to enjoy tastes, company, and laughter. Please consider what foods have brought your family and home comfort, are favorites that bring joy, or are special stand-out tastes that you'd recommend others try. The recipes will be put together to form a cookbook for our school, and to bring other people a taste of the food that brings us joy.
Use the link attached to contribute your recipe(s): https://forms.gle/gpcd72EzYoqxPEXS9
Note: Emails will NOT be put in the cookbook, that is so the organizer can contact you if there are any questions about your recipe. If you do not want to include your email feel free to leave that blank.
Being happy for other people when they succeed isn’t always everyone’s initial reaction. Often, it’s easy to become jealous or envious of others’ victories. It’s important to note that these are natural emotions and in small doses can be helpful in allowing us to see what we care about -- and motivate us to pursue those goals. But making a commitment towards cheering on other people’s successes can be a great way to improve our own health, happiness, and relationships. Being supportive of people who succeed is good for our mental, physical, and emotional well-being and when people cheer each other on it begins a reciprocal process that forges stronger relationships. Those relationships are the foundation for a strong culture in teams, schools, and businesses.
Hard to believe that we are already planning for next year. We ask that all parents/guardians complete the Student Intention Form, one for each student, to let us know if your student will, or will not, return to Lemon Road next year. Forms were sent home in lst week’s Wednesday folders. If you are not returning, please let us know where your child/children will be attending school.
Please complete the form and return it to school at your earliest convenience.
Save the date! Our Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, March 31st from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. and will begin in our cafeteria. After a few minutes, families will be divided into groups to participate together in an interactive tour of the building and learning opportunities. The program will finish at 3:30 at the playground should families wish to stay and play!
