Good Morning Parents and Families:
This last week, we emphasized the importance of kindness, which aligns with our school-wide expectations. I want to thank our leadership and Panther News students for all they did to make this a wonderful week. I encourage our students to continue to complete their Kindness Bingo cards and check Schoology for more information.
Our students and staff continue to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning throughout each week. I want to thank everyone for their continued hard work and effort. A quick reminder we have no school this coming Monday, February 21 in observance of President's Day. On Tuesday, February 22, we will have a yellow-out to support our amazing bus drivers. We ask our students and staff to wear yellow in honor of Bus Driver Appreciation Day!
As always, I thank you for your continued support and I welcome your feedback. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly (mcnorris@fcps.edu). Enjoy the long weekend!
Thanks,
Meredith Norris Principal Stone Middle School

Portrait of a Panther
Another week of getting into classrooms and highlighting our wonderful students. This week, several of our students were working really hard in their Math class as they problem-solved in pairs and small groups. I continue to be so proud at the level of communication and collaboration our students engage in.

Kindness Week Feature
A huge thank you to our leadership and Panther News teams for ensuring we had a successful Kindness Week. We kicked off the week with our kindness poster contest where each Panther Block created a kindness poster. These posters are displayed all around the school and remind our students and staff about the importance of being kind. Please click the link above to read more about it.

Parent Internet Activity Reports
FCPS parents who are interested in knowing more about their child’s Internet browsing activity on an FCPS device can sign up to receive a weekly Parent Report from Lightspeed, our internet content filtering service. The report provides a list of the top sites the child visited that week.
Additionally, if parents wish to get more detailed information, the weekly Parent Report offers parents the ability to self-sign-up to the free Internet Use Parent Portal. Parents who sign up for the Internet Use Parent Portal can log-in any time to see a little more detail about their child’s internet browsing. The portal also offers the parent added ability to “pause” access to the internet during non-school hours on the FCPS device.
Interested parents can submit a request directly from the Technology Support for Families page for weekly Parent Reports. FCPS will validate the enrolling parent’s email in SIS, and once processed, the parent will receive a weekly report over each weekend from our internet content filtering service, Lightspeed.
Two of our students help celebrate and honor our amazing custodial team!
Our Math 7 students engage in some math pong action as they solve problems and have a little fun!
A huge thank you to our leadership students for celebrating our custodians this week!
