Dear Columbia families:

It has been another exciting week at CES! We have had staff recognitions, facilities improvements, and even a fun twin-day spirit day today. In the Cafeteria and in the GYM, we have installed new electronically operated projection screens. We are also installing new overhead monitors and pooling resources to finish installing whiteboards in each classroom that still need them.

In other news, earlier today a division-wide email went out to all families in regards to changes in making guidelines taking effect on March 1st. Please carefully review your email and the www.fcps.edu website for more information.

As a reminder, next week we will have a 2-hour early release on Thursday March 3rd. Dismissal on Thursday will be at 2:05pm. We also will have no school for students on Friday, March 4th.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Take care,

Mike Astudillo

Mrs. Eggleton Recognized as FCPS CARES Recipient

Congratulations to Tammy Eggleton on being recognized as a February 2022 FCPS CARES recipient!

Below is the write up submitted by a Columbia ES teacher.

Tammy consistently goes above and beyond to support her students and colleagues. She plans engaging music lessons incorporating movement and instruments that the kids love, and they learn so much! Tammy is a supportive colleague and friend. She notices when her colleagues are having a bad day, and is always able to make them smile and cheer them up! She builds positive relationships and is always ready to lend a helping hand or listening ear. She is a role model for what an exemplary teammate should be, and the Columbia community is so lucky to have her! Thanks Tammy for everything you do.
