LCES Updates 2/18/22: School Holiday, Spirit Day, Reading Celebration and more!

I Am Enough by Grace Byers

BHM
BHM

Throughout the month of February, we are celebrating Black History Month, as we celebrate the many contributions African Americans have made in our schools, our community, and our country. We have been celebrating African American authors, artists, scientists, athletes, and so many other contributors. Our Kindergarten students recently enjoyed reading I Am Enough by Grace Byers, during their Library time. The students then created their own, “I am” statements where they focused on the importance of  loving who they are, respecting others, and being kind to one another.

Spirit Day

TT

Our next school-wide Spirit Day will be on Tuesday, February 22 (2-22-22). All are invited to wear a tie, a tutu, or two mismatched shoes. We look forward to being creative, silly, and showing our school spirit!

Monday Holiday

Schools will be closed on Monday, February 21st in honor of Presidents' Day.

This year, we are pleased to announce that the cost of the books will be fully funded by LCES! Please see the attached flier for additional information about the program. You can place your orders via this Google form anytime on or before Friday, February 25th!
