SIS StudentVUE and ParentVUE Passwords

We have discovered an anomaly in StudentVUE and ParentVUE, which limits the use of special characters in passwords. We have reported this anomaly to the vendor. In the meantime, StudentVUE and ParentVUE will only accept these special characters: ! , @, #, $, and *. Students or parents that are having trouble with their log-in may be using other special characters that are not currently permitted in the application.

As we work through this issue with the vendor, the fastest resolution for students and parents with special characters in their password is to reset their FCPS password and choose one of the 5 special characters currently allowed: !, @, #, $, or *. We apologize for any inconvenience and continue to work with the vendor to resolve this issue.

Academic Advising and Course Selection for 2022-23

Academic Advising Season has begun! Starting January 2022, students will meet individually with their school counselor to choose their courses for the 2022-23 school year. It is so important that parents and students are informed of their academic options.

To assist students with selecting their courses for next year we have created a Virtual Curriculum Fair.  On this site students and families will have access to videos, brochures, and materials on all of Herndon’s core, elective, and advanced academic courses. Details, requirements, and benefits of taking Herndon's 2022-23 course offerings are available from our content experts. The information available on the Virtual Curriculum Fair site will help guide conversations with your student about their course selections. Important dates are listed below and the timeline for academic advising and course selection can be found here (English, Spanish).

From the Library

The library has many opportunities for students to engage!

Offering reading recommendations based on student interest is one of our favorite things to do. Students also have the ability to search for books independently. When they log in to Destiny (using their school Google account), students are able to search for books, put books on hold, see what they have checked out, and renew their books. MackinVIA (linked through Destiny or available as an app) offers hundreds of popular ebooks and e-audiobooks that students can check out 7 days a week/ 24 hours a day.

Research questions? We help students find reliable information and learn how to use information ethically. Students can find fantastic research supports through their HHS Library course on Schoology, and they can always reach us at hhs_library@fcps.edu to ask a question or to schedule a one-on-one session.

HUMC Free Tutoring Program

TGFT will remain virtual for the start of the 2021-2022 school  year, with sessions beginning on September 8. Information regarding the program can be found on our website:  herndonumc.org/tgft

Students are encouraged to fill out the registration form on the website, as this allows us to match students with our subject-area specialists. As in the past, we offer assistance in all math subjects, chemistry, and physics.

We want to help your students be successful this year!
