 In Music class, 5th graders are learning how to play the ukulele.
Our next school-wide Spirit Day will be on Tuesday, February 22 (2-22-22). All are invited to wear a tie, a tutu, or two mismatched shoes. We look forward to being creative, silly, and showing our school spirit!
Beginning after Spring Break, Lees Corner Elementary will embark on our fourth annual school-wide book club called One School, One Book. If you choose to participate, your family will receive a copy of Ways to Make Sunshine, an honest and authentic story about making sunshine out of setbacks. This year, we are pleased to announce that the cost of the books will be fully funded by LCES! Please see the attached flier for additional information about the program. You can place your orders via this Google form anytime on or before Friday, February 25th!
If possible, please send your child to school each day with a water bottle. Bottles can be refilled during the day.
We are excited to announce that we will partner with the Fairfax County Health Department to host 2 COVID vaccine clinics for individuals ages 5 and older. Initial vaccines as well as booster shots will be available. Preregistration is NOT required and all vaccines will be FREE. Participation is completely voluntary and open to the community.
The dates are February 16th and March 9th and will take place during after school hours from 4:30--7:00 PM. See the attached flier for more information. Spanish Flier here.

- Students in grades K-2 will only be required to take laptops home on evenings or weekends when the possibility of inclement weather may occur. These students should keep the second charger that they received at home. We will collect all chargers at the end of the school year.
- Teachers may permit students in grades K-2 to take devices home some days, if there is a specific instructional need to do so.
- Per FCPS Device Guidelines, students in grades 3-6 will continue to take their laptop and charger to and from school on a nightly basis, including weekends.
Schools will be closed on Monday, February 21st in honor of Presidents' Day.
Thursday, March 3rd is a 2 hour early release day and dismissal will be at 1:35 PM.
Friday, March 4th is a Staff Development day and students will not be in school.
Friday, April 1st is a Teacher Workday and students will not be in school.
Spring Break will be April 4th--8th.
