Join the PTA Board
Elections for the PTA Board will be held at our May General Membership Meeting. We are currently looking to fill the roles of Treasurer and Vice President for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Treasurer role is required per our bylaws and the ICES PTA will be forced to go dormant next year without a volunteer. It is critical that we identify candidates for Treasurer so that we can continue to advocate for ICES kids!
Additionally, the PTA Board welcomes multiple volunteers for Vice President. We encourage friends to join together. Vice Presidents support the activities and programs of the PTA that most interest them.
The time you donate as a PTA Board Member is an investment in our school, community, and your child’s education. It shows children that their education is important to us; provides an example of leadership and civic involvement; allows you to build relationships with teachers, faculty, and other parents; and enables you to make a positive impact on the school and community. Spring Enrichment/After School Programs Update
Programs will run on Tuesday - Thursday from February 22 - May 26. New programs include Pottery, Math, and Robotics. Classes run for 10-12 weeks from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Registration is set to close on February 18. Classes that do not meet the minimum may be canceled. Register here.
Girls on the Run is tentatively scheduled for March 7 – May 22. Registration will likely open in mid February for this program.
PTA Upcoming Events
Paint & Pizza will be held on February 18, in the ICES Cafeteria from 6:30 - 8 PM. Create your masterpiece as you follow along with our instructor, Island Creek's Art Teacher, Rachel Kromel! Get your Group Bundle now! It is $45 for Group Bundle. A Group Bundle includes 4 seats and the supplies necessary to complete 2 Projects. Limited tickets available. Sign up today!
Doors will open at 6 PM, in the ICES cafeteria for event check-in and supply pick-up. We will begin painting promptly at 6:30 PM. Optional add-on items: Additional project kits and Papa John's pizza will be available for purchase during registration. We highly recommend pre-ordering pizza along with your ticket purchase. We will have a 50/50 Raffle!
Registration is now open for Family Bingo and Silent Auction on March 18! We will have prizes for each of the 12 games! It is $35 for a Group Bundle (4 seats, 4 bingo packets). Pizza will be available for purchase. We highly recommend pre-ordering pizza along with your ticket purchase. We will have prizes for each of the 12 games!
Donations
We are so excited about our Paint & Pizza! We're hoping to collect 150 empty 32 oz containers (yogurt or sour cream) for the event. These will be used as water cups on the tables during the event. Drop boxes for donations will be located outside of the ICES Main Office. Donations will be accepted through February 11.
The Bingo and Silent Auction event is one of the PTA’s biggest fundraisers. The PTA uses proceeds to advance our mission – to advocate for the children of Island Creek Elementary School. We achieve this in a variety of ways, including providing programs, events, and partnering with the school to ensure it has everything needed to maintain the best learning environment.
We need the entire community to help make this event a success! We welcome any unique or interesting prizes or silent night auction items that the community can offer – and encourage you to be creative! Gift cards and cash donations in any amount are also welcome. We have included suggested items for Bingo, Consolidation Prizes, and the Silent Auction. Please sign up for an item category and let us know what you plan to donate to help guarantee we receive a variety of items. You do not have to indicate the value on this signup form. Please deliver your donation to the ICES Main Office by February 18 in an envelope marked “PTA Bingo and Silent Auction”. You may deliver in-person or through your student. Please include your full name (first and last), estimated value of the donated item/experience, and/or gift card value along with the item/donation. Questions?
