PTA Staff Appreciation Chili Cook-Off - Tues. 3/1 @ 8am
Think your chili is the best!? Join the PTA to show your appreciation for the SLES teachers & staff on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 for the Spring PTA Chili Cook-Off! All chili submissions must be delivered to the front entrance of the school in a Crockpot or Instapot on Tuesday 3/1 from 8-8:30am. **Please make sure to mark your unit — they’ll be ready for pick-up on 3/2!

SLES Yearbook - LAST CHANCE for 6th Grade Baby Photo submission
Attention 6th Grade Parents! Please send us a baby photo of your 6th grader so that we can include it in the yearbook's 6th grade baby pic collage pages. This is always such a fun collage, and we need YOU to make it an inclusive success! Please send us your 6th grader's baby pic no later than February 14, 2022, to yearbook4SLES@gmail.com. **Please include the phrase 'Baby Pic' along with your 6th Grader's name in the subject line of your email to us (e.g., 'Lisa Smith - Baby Pic'). * Complete order. (Note: you can also donate additional money to your order. These funds will be applied to donated yearbooks.)

* Choose the options for your child’s yearbook.
* At the bottom of the order page, please include your donation under “Donation to School”. These funds will be applied towards the donation of yearbooks to the Care & Share Program.
***Volunteer Opportunities***
Spring Fling Committee - Spring Fling is an SLES fundraising tradition! It’s not just a fundraiser, it is part of the fabric of our school community. This school-wide event brings our SLES community together in a variety of ways! Past events have included class baskets, teacher treats, silent auction, DJ entertainment and dancing, raffle prizes, root beer floats, and more! We would like to form a committee of parents to plan and implement this event, which will be held at the end of March. This year’s committee will benefit from the support of past Spring Fling leadership and committee chairs. The 2022 Spring Fling will differ from years past because of COVID protocols, and the committee is free to come up with a unique vision for this event.
If we are not able to find 2-3 more volunteers to join the Spring Fling committee by February 18th, the event will have to be canceled.
Talent Show Chair - Do you love theater and producing shows? We need help organizing this year’s Talent Show (tentatively planned for April). Help to give our students an opportunity to showcase their talents!
If you would like to volunteer for any of these opportunities, or if you know someone who would be awesome in one of these roles, please spread the word! You don’t have to work alone - grab a friend and tackle one of these projects together!
These, like all other SLES events, cannot happen without volunteers. Please consider volunteering your time so our children and families can enjoy these wonderful events.
