We congratulate Sheila, Atticus, Mukilan, MD & Delilah for being awesome role models and students for our Mustang family!
To provide our Mustangs some entertainment on indoor recess days due to cold or inclement weather, we are looking for donations of gently used board games (no missing pieces) or new board games. As you are cleaning out your closets, if you have school appropriate/student friendly board games that you would like to donate, please feel free to drop them off at the McNair Upper ES main office by March 1st. Our main office is open daily from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. Our goal is to divide the new or gently used board games we collect amongst our three pod spaces for students to enjoy during indoor recess time.
The staff at McNair Upper ES work incredibly hard to support our Mustangs. If you would like to express a note of appreciation for a member of the MUES staff, please take a moment to submit a FCPS Cares nomination. These are quick ‘one time’ submissions with a few sentences sharing how a McNair Upper ES staff member went above and beyond to support a student or you.
Here is the link to submit an FCPS CARES.

In February, people all over the United States celebrate Black History Month—because Black history is American history. Students deserve meaningful, sustained opportunities to learn about the experiences and contributions of Black and African American people year-round, and Black History Month is one opportunity to honor these diverse and important stories. Each week in the McNair Memo in February, we will spotlight some important achievements and contributions of Black Americans.
