Edison Academy Open House - February 5, 2022

We will have our in person Open House on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 10:00-1:00 PM. If activities on school grounds are cancelled again, we would pivot to a virtual event from 10:00-11:30 AM.

You will have the opportunity to tour our state-of-the-art facilities in person, meet our instructors and current students, and learn more about our incredible courses!  To enable our Edison Academy Open House be held in-person, we are implementing the following safety strategies for visitors:

  • Masks will be required for all participants while inside the school building.
  • Entry only at Door #13; Participants will exit through Door #12.
  • Sign in with QR Code/Sign in sheet including symptom monitoring checklist at Welcome Table (Door #13).
  • Visitors will be provided a 45-minute window for visit.
  • Limit the number of visitors per classroom/lab to a maximum of 20.

FCPS remains committed to providing safe in-person learning for students and community engagement while navigating the national omicron surge. Our layered prevention strategies have been effective at keeping in-school transmission rates low.

PTSA News

The Edison PTSA has enrolled in the National PTA School of Excellence program. The goal of the School of Excellence program is to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of students. The first step in that process is to survey our Edison community to identify where we can improve. To that end, the Edison PTSA is asking our community to fill out the following questionnaire. The deadline to respond is 2/14. Apparently the link didn’t work last week, but we have fixed it, so please try again.  Survey Link

Thomas Edison’s Birthday Celebration is Friday, February 11. As part of the celebration, each of the students will be given a cupcake or doughnut during the lunch period. We will need lots of volunteers to help out with the commemoration. We will need donations of cupcakes and doughnuts and parents to help hand them out during the lunches. Please consider helping out and sign up at the “new and improved” link: Sign Up Here  Please reach out if you have any questions - president@edisonhsptsa.org
