Congratulations and Farewell to Two Staff Cubbies!
Ann Baynes, Cub Run's Administrative Assistant, will be retiring after this week! Mrs. Baynes transitioned from her front office assistant role to Administrative Assistant right when the pandemic hit, and she kept the front office running smoothly during the transition from one principal to another without missing a beat. While we will miss her dearly, we wish her all the best and are excited for her next chapter in life!
Jen Bagnas, who joined us as a part-time ESOL teacher this year, has accepted a full-time ESOL position at Centre Ridge Elementary in Centreville. Mrs. Bagnas' enthusiasm and positivity are infectious, and she will be so very missed by students and staff alike!

Welcome Part-time School Counselor Jina Yang!
Hello everyone! My name is Jina Yang, and I am the new part-time school counselor at Cub Run Elementary School. I received my M.S. in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, and I am excited to embark on my career as a school counselor at Cub Run. I was born in South Korea but was raised in NoVA. I am a former FCPS student myself and grateful to be back in the county to serve as a school counselor! In my spare time, I love to travel, do arts and crafts, and spend time with friends and family.
I hope to be part of Cub Run family by providing support to not only the students but also staff, families, and community. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

Welcome back to Cub Run, Emily Im!
Mrs. Emily Comendador (Im) served as our long-term substitute teacher when our full-time ESOL teacher, Mrs. Allison Willis, was out on maternity leave in the fall. Mrs. Im will be joining us as a full-time Instructional Assistant, working with ESOL students and supporting students in the primary grades. She is a FCPS graduate from Centreville High School and graduated from VCU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early and Elementary Education. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband/family/friends, jogging, strength training, hiking, traveling, cooking, gardening, arranging flowers, watching anime/movies, and puzzling.

Parent/Guardian Volunteers Add Color to Cub Run!
Our amazing parent/guardian volunteers came in over the long weekend and spent many, many hours transforming our brown stair railings into a rainbow of color! Seeing the children's reactions when they came to school on Tuesday morning was priceless! They loved the colorful surprise, and Cub Run loves our parents and guardians! Kudos to Kang Ta, Katie Tuben, Bonnie and Owen Donnelly, Valerie and Lauryn Barr, Erin Lawrenc, Ericka Llerena, Marija Mladenovic, Michaela McMillan, John and Suzanne Leonard, Catherine Stewart, and Jordan Railsback. Thank you for putting smiles on Cubby faces!
