Dear Poplar Tree Families,
It was wonderful having our students return to the building this week! And, good news the library is open once again. We had some roof leaks over winter break. Over the student holidays they were able to replace the roof above the library.
Just a reminder that unless there is a wind chill advisory or warning and/or the playground is snow covered, our students go outside for recess. Please make sure that your child is dressed for the conditions. We think it is important for students to get outside and play during the school day.

Candid and Club Pictures
February 4
We will be taking candid and club pictures for the yearbook next Friday, February 4. The club pictures will include Band, Strings, SCA, Chorus, News Crew, Patrols, and Tech Squad. Students are encouraged to wear Poplar Tree spirit wear that day.

Is Your Child Eligible for Kindergarten?

Children who will reach the age of five on or before September 30, 2022 are eligible to attend kindergarten for SY 2022-23.

We need volunteers to assist with upcoming events including our Virtual Talent Show, Online Auction, and 6th Grade Committee. Please sign up online or reach out to learn more.
🔤Sign-up is open for the Spelling Bee🔤
The Poplar Tree PTA has been planning for a successful spelling bee program for 2021-2022. Poplar Tree is proud to offer students an opportunity to exhibit their proficiency in the art of spelling and, just as importantly, vocabulary. The school Spelling Bee Champion will advance to the Fairfax county regional competition. The regional winner will go to the Scripps National Spelling Bee representing Fairfax County. The registration deadline is 01/31/22.
Teachers do not have access to practice materials. Any questions should be directed to the PTA.
