Update Your Vaccination Status Before March 1

To be considered “up-to-date” with your COVID-19 vaccination status, you should have one of the following:

  • Booster (3rd dose) with a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.
  • 2nd Dose of the initial series of Pfizer is within the last 5 months.
  • 2nd Dose of the initial series of Moderna is within the last 5 months.
  • 1st Dose Johnson & Johnson is within the last 2 months.

The new protocols will be applied to administrative leave for COVID-19 beginning March 1.

Be sure to update your vaccination status with the date of your most recent vaccine dose, including boosters, on the Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Status Form.

Yesterday we held a virtual town hall to discuss our mask requirement and how we are keeping schools safe for in-person learning. Many topics and questions were discussed including:

  • Mask guidance from health authorities.
  • FCPS’ lawsuit with other school divisions.
  • Steps to take if a student refuses to wear a mask. 
  • Employee expectations. 
  • Social media guidance for staff. 
  • Handling difficult conversations and situations.

Tax Time

W-2 tax forms for calendar year 2021 will be mailed by January 31, 2022, to your address on record as of December 30, 2021.

If your address is not up to date, please update it in UConnect now. Any W-2 returned to FCPS will be re-mailed to the new address. 

More information about receiving and reviewing your W-2 is available online.

Superintendent Search — School Board to Hold Work Session on January 31

The next step in FCPS’ nationwide search for a new superintendent will take place January 31. The School Board will be holding a work session to discuss the superintendent search on Monday, January 31, at 6 p.m. The meeting can be viewed on FCPS Cable TV Channel 99 (Verizon Channel 11), the FCPS YouTube Channel, and on the FCPS website.

FCPS is conducting a nationwide search for a new superintendent to lead the school district when Superintendent Brabrand's contract expires at the end of the 2021-22 school year.

School Board to Vote Thursday on 2022-23 School Year Calendar

The School Board will hold a regular business meeting on Thursday, January 27, at 7 p.m. Agenda items include:

  • Approval of the 2022-23 school year calendar.
  • Approval of the purchase of age-appropriate electronic devices for PreK-2 students.
