  • February 3 & 4:  WRAP - Washington Regional Alcohol Program in Criminal Justice

Academy course registration is OPEN!

Registration for 2022-2023 courses is currently at full strength across Fairfax County.  Although Falls Church Academy has already had our Virtual Open House event, that doesn't mean we are not still here to offer you the support you need to get connected to our programs and answer any questions you may have about registering for our exciting courses.

Academy ESOL Resource Teacher supports ESOL students and teachers working with ESOL students. She provides resources and direct support, as needed, and communicates with base schools regarding ESOL student support. Please contact Mrs. Schubring at raschubring@fcps.edu

Special Education Resource Teachers are resource teachers with a background in special education, math and health sciences. They are available to work with ALL students in all of our Academy programs, but particularly those with special needs. Please contact Ms. Gina Rotanelli at grotanelli@fcps.edu and Mrs. Muriel Hills at mmhills@fcps.edu.  

Academy Counselor provides school counseling services to all students at the academy (i.e. academic and social/emotional counseling) and manages course registration and 504 plans for all Academy students. Please contact Mr. Oundee at eaoundee@fcps.edu

Career Experience Specialist handles anything connected to career experiences, which includes: career focused events, field trips, interview and resume assistance, exchange programs, event planning, job shadowing, internships and various types of Academy promotion.  Please contact Mrs. Jill Burrer at jdburrer@fcps.edu.  


Students Can Visit an Academy class

Come visit a Falls Church Academy class during the school day!

Student visits are currently being held through March 10th, on Tuesdays,, Wednesdays & Thursdays, and must be scheduled a week in advance. Students should see their high school counselor who will coordinate a day and time with our office. Note: Academy visits are only available for current 9th -11th grade students. 

Students must have a completed and signed Student Visitor Pass (received from students base school counselor) that they will be required to bring with them on the day of the scheduled visit. They will need to show their visitor pass to the bus driver (if riding an academy shuttle) and when they arrive and check in at Falls Church Academy before going to the Academy class they are scheduled to visit.

If the student plans to drive to the Academy, please inform Ms. Fields in room 186-1 in the Falls Church Academy hallway, let the school counselor know so they can request a one-day Academy parking pass.


Inclement Weather and Academy classes

 Virtual Learning on Inclement Weather Days

  • Instruction will be synchronous
    • Teachers should be available to support students completing assignments
    • Teachers will record direct instruction portions of class and make
    • Students log off for lunch - 12:10 - 12:55pm

Be sure your own devices are charged and ready ahead of Tuesday in case of a virtual learning day and any potential power outages.

FCPS will announce a virtual learning day in the weather closure announcement on the website and social media channels and through email/text communications and local media.
