FCPS & Oak View Continue Universal Masking
Oak View thanks families in advance for continuing to adhere to FCPS Universal Masking requirements. As FCPS Superintendent, Dr. Brabrand, shared in Friday's communication:
In accordance with state law, our regulation requiring universal masking remains in place until further notice. Students will be required to comply with the requirements of Regulation 2109.2. Face masks are included in the student dress code and failure to comply remains an SR&R violation. Intentional removal of or refusal to wear a face covering during the times face coverings are required by all students will be treated as a violation of Regulation 2613. In addition, per federal guidelines, students must continue to wear masks at all times on school buses or other FCPS transportation.
We are working towards a day when we can begin to roll back these safety measures, including universal masking. But for right now, we must continue to protect and serve all our students, including our most vulnerable. More than anything else, these mitigation measures allow them to safely remain in our schools.

Daily Symptom Check at Home
Oak View thanks families for their continued diligence in keeping your children home if they are sick or displaying any COVID-like symptoms as we navigate this latest surge. In addition, please note that if you are awaiting test results, please keep your child home - as noted on the screening questionnaire. We know some results have been delayed in the recent surge and appreciate your patience. One of the most important prevention strategies guidelines is screening students daily for any signs of illness prior to leaving home for school. Any student who is ill or presents with COVID-like symptoms is to remain at home. The daily health screening questionnaire and all translated version can be found on our Health and Safety Guidance document at https://www.fcps.edu/return-school/health-and-safety-guidance-document. This document provides the details of the policies and protocols related to COVID-19, and it is continually updated to align with public health guidance as it evolves during the school year. Daily completion of the health screening is done on an honor basis and does not need to be sent to the school. More information is available here.
