progress reports

Dear Flint Hill Family,

Even though it was an abbreviated week for our students, there were many successes! We had a virtually amazing day on Thursday which provided us an opportunity to share many smiles!

As we reach the end of second quarter, we reflect on student academic progress thus far and implications for instruction regarding the second half of the year. Monday is a staff development day, and it provides us an opportunity to participate in professional learning and to discuss student gains. While we will make good use of this time, we also look forward to seeing our students again on Tuesday!

Warmly,

Dr. Jennifer Hertzberg, Principal

Mr. Ross Baker, Assistant Principal

Community Town Hall

January 24th, 7 p.m.

Many of our families and employees have questions about how the Governor’s Executive Order regarding masking will impact FCPS. Please join us on Zoom for a virtual town hall on Monday, January 24, from 7-8 p.m., for a conversation on this important topic. Superintendent Scott Brabrand; Michelle Boyd, Assistant Superintendent, Special Services; and a guest from the medical community will answer questions and share information. The event will also be streamed on Facebook Live. Language interpretation services will be available in Arabic, Korean, Spanish, and American Sign Language. Please register to attend and know that FCPS remains committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all of our students and staff.

Students May Submit COVID Vaccination Status

You may wish to voluntarily share your child’s COVID-19 vaccination information with us. However, we do not require your child’s vaccination information, and no school employee will ask for your child’s vaccination status. The only exception is student-athletes, who are required to share their vaccination status to participate in their sport or activity.

If you would like to provide us with your child’s vaccination status, please bring your child’s COVID-19 vaccination card or a photocopy of the card to Mrs. Eason, our Student Information Assistant (SIA). COVID-19 vaccination documentation contains Protected Health Information and should not be emailed

As always, you are welcome to contact us if you have any questions!

Tweet of the Week!

We continue to highlight learning experiences that support the acquisition of Portrait of a Graduate attributes and skills across our community and Google classrooms.

We promote Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in many ways at Flint Hill. Using the Responsive Classroom approach, students reinforce their skills of #communicating, #collaborating, and are part of creating a safe and comfortable learning environment for all!

For more information on Portrait of a Graduate, ask your child how they are a communicator, collaborator, critical and creative thinker, goal-directed and resilient individual, or ethical and global citizen. Or, click here!
