Hope this message finds you and your family members in the best of spirits and health. This is a reminder that Monday, January 17th is a HOLIDAY-- schools are closed.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Snow is Coming--Possible Snow Day
Snow and freezing rain is predicted for Sunday & Monday. If the weather is bad, schools will close on Tuesday, January 18th, to include the main office, and your child will have a synchronous virtual learning day. Our teachers have prepared your children to access their instruction through Schoology. If you have any questions, please email your child’s teacher.
Front Office-- New Location
BES is entering the next phase of our renovation. The front office is now located in a trailer,
Late Arrival-- Tardy Desk
If your child arrives after 8:55 a.m., you must take them to door #3 (cafeteria) and one of our parent liaisons will assist you. The tardy desk closes at 9:30 a.m. If you arrive at or after 9:30 a.m., you will need to bring your child the to the main office--trailer, located across from the gym (door#4).
Early Pick-Up
In order to make the process of picking up your child early from school easy, you must do the following:

Call the Main Office at 703-914-7300, a minimum of 1-hour before your arrival

Email your child’s teacher so that they can pack up your child prior to the pick up time
- The transition process from the classroom to the main office takes approximately 10 minutes
- A form of ID is required (i.e., Driver’s License, Passport, or a card with your name on it)
- A member of the front office will sign your child out
Keeping Your Child Home When Sick-- Mitigating the Spread of COVID
Thank you for contacting the school and letting us know that your child is sick or if someone in the home has recently tested positive for COVID. CDC recommends that if your child is a close contact, that you keep them home and have them isolate for 10-days. If you have any questions, please call the school at 703-914-7300. We are here to help.
NOTE: If your child is vaccinated, the do not need to quarantine, instead you will need to complete the following form: COVID Contact Vaccination Verification
REMINDER: Please make sure that you send your child to school with a well-fitted mask.

Braddock ES reports a total of 20 positive COVID-19 cases since August 23, 2021. Eleven (11) students and nine (9) are staff members.
This week, we had 3 students and 4 staff members who tested positive for COVID and we have a total of 47 students and 8 staff members who are currently learning and teaching remotely while in a pause, quarantine, or isolation.
Remember, do your part to keep our school safe. Wear a well-fitted mask, get vaccinated if you are eligible, practice healthy hygiene, and stay home when you are sick. Most importantly, please do not send your children to school if they are sick or asked to quarantine.

The first five snow days of the school year have already been used, going forward any inclimate weather days (snow days) will be Virtual Learning Days. Students will be taking their computers home each Friday and if we are notified of any possible weather that could impact travel to school.
The virtual school day will begin at 10:30 a.m. Your child will first log into Schoology and then to their Zoom Classroom. The overview of times in which your child will need to be at their computer is below. Individual schedules will be posted in their Schoology Classroom.
NOTE: Please notify your child’s teacher if you do not have internet access in your home.

Espero que este mensaje los encuentre a usted y a los miembros de su familia en el mejor estado de ánimo y salud. Este es un recordatorio de que el lunes 17 de enero es un DÍA FERIADO: las escuelas están cerradas.
INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE:
Se acerca la nieve: posible día de nieve
Se pronostica nieve y lluvia helada para el domingo y el lunes. Si hace mal tiempo, las escuelas cerrarán el martes 18 de enero para incluir la oficina principal y su hijo tendrá un día de aprendizaje virtual sincrónico. Nuestros maestros han preparado a sus hijos para acceder a su instrucción a través de Schoology. Si tiene alguna pregunta, envíe un correo electrónico al maestro de su hijo.

Llegada tardía - Mostrador de tardanzas
Si su hijo llega después de las 8:55 a. m., debe llevarlo a la puerta n.º 3 (cafetería) y uno de nuestros enlaces de padres lo ayudará. El mostrador de tardanzas cierra a las 9:30 a. m. Si llega a las 9:30 a. m. o después, deberá llevar a su hijo a la oficina principal: el remolque, ubicado frente al gimnasio (puerta n.° 4).
Recogida anticipada
Para facilitar el proceso de recoger a su hijo antes de la escuela, debe hacer lo siguiente:
- Llame a la oficina principal al 703-914-7300, mínimo 1 hora antes de su llegada
- Envíe un correo electrónico al maestro de su hijo para que pueda empacar a su hijo antes de la hora de recogida
- El proceso de transición del salón de clases a la oficina principal toma aproximadamente 10 minutos
- Se requiere una forma de identificación (es decir, licencia de conducir, pasaporte o una tarjeta con su nombre)
- Un miembro de la oficina principal firmará la salida de su hijo
- Mantener a su hijo en casa cuando está enfermo: mitigar la propagación de COVID
Gracias por comunicarse con la escuela e informarnos que su hijo está enfermo o si alguien en el hogar recientemente dio positivo por COVID. Los primeros cinco días de nieve del año escolar ya se han utilizado, en el futuro, cualquier día de clima inclemente (días de nieve) serán Días de Aprendizaje Virtual. Los estudiantes llevarán sus computadoras a casa todos los viernes y si somos notificados de cualquier posible clima que podría afectar el viaje a la escuela.
El día escolar virtual comenzará a las 10:30 a. m. Su hijo primero iniciará sesión en Schoology y luego en Zoom Classroom. La descripción general de los tiempos en los que su hijo necesitará estar en su computadora se encuentra a continuación. Los horarios individuales se publicarán en su aula de Schoology.
NOTA: Notifique al maestro de su hijo si no tiene acceso a Internet en su hogar.
