Across Fairfax County, we continue to receive reports of roadways, sidewalks and pathways that remain unsafe for our students. Out of an abundance of caution, and the concern for safety of our students, all Fairfax County public schools will be closed tomorrow, January 6, 2022. In-person and virtual learning are canceled. School offices and central offices are open with an unscheduled leave policy in effect. The following activities in schools and on school grounds are canceled:
- extracurricular activities
- interscholastic contests
- team practices
- field trips
- middle school after-school programs
- professional learning and training courses
- Adult and Community (ACE) education classes
- recreation programs and community use by outside groups not affiliated with FCPS
School age child care (SACC) centers are closed.
COVID-19 diagnostic testing sites will be open for symptomatic students and staff.
Meal kit distribution will also continue as scheduled.
