School Resumes tomorrow!
Inclement Weather
Now that we have entered January, it’s a good time to make inclement weather plans. To ensure the safety of students and staff, FCPS may have to close or delay schools due to inclement weather. In the case of an emergency weather-related closing, delay, or early dismissal, the FCPS website will be updated. Parents will also be able to get this information quickly via FCPS Twitter and Facebook pages. Email and text messages will be sent to parents using weCare@school.
Possible inclement weather decisions are:
-
Two-hour delay: School at Fort Belvoir Primary and Upper will begin at 11:20 a.m. The doors will open for students at 11:00 a.m.
-
Two-hour early closure: School at Fort Belvoir Primary and Upper will close at 2:05 p.m.
-
All schools closed: Schools are closed for all students

Daily Health Screening Required!
Welcome back, Dolphins! We are excited to see you tomorrow, January 3, 2022. Unfortunately, since we were last together, COVID cases have sharply increased in our region. At Fort Belvoir Elementary Campus, we will continue to engage in practices that mitigate the transmission of this virus when students and staff return on Monday.
In order to keep everyone as healthy as we can, please make sure you health screen your child before sending them to school. If your child does not feel well or presents with any COVID-like symptoms, please keep them at home and seek medical advice. If your child recently tested positive for COVID and/or was a close contact, please follow the directions of your medical professional and/or the Health Department. Click here for additional information on safely returning to school. Please call us at 703-781-2700 (Primary) or 571-982-1300 (Upper) if you have questions. We appreciate your support in keeping our Fort Belvoir community healthy!
For your convenience, click here for the Daily Health Questionnaire.
Please remember to send your child to school with a mask.
COVID-19 Testing Information
FCPS’ COVID-19 testing program helps keep our schools safe places to learn and work. FCPS offers:
-
Diagnostic Testing for students at six drive-through locations. You may take advantage of these services if you are a close contact or are experiencing symptoms. Appointments are not needed for diagnostic testing but families do need to register in the secure online portal. Information about student diagnostic testing, including site locations and schedules, can be found on the FCPS website.
-
Optional Screening Testing for unvaccinated students. Parents and guardians can use the secure online portal to register their unvaccinated child(ren) for optional COVID-19 screening. If you do not want your child to participate, no action is required. You will have the option to update your child’s vaccination status and/or withdraw consent for testing anytime. Student-athletes do not need to pre-register with the online portal for screening testing, they will use a separate portal provided by their school’s student activities director.
FCPS COVID-19 Testing Sites - FCPS COVID-19 regular testing sites will resume on January 3, 2022. If needed, other local providers are available for testing and vaccinations.
If your child is not already registered in the online portal, please do so in advance. This process will automatically enter the child in their school’s optional screening testing. Parents/guardians must log in to the online portal after the diagnostic test is complete and withdraw their consent, to remove the child from the weekly screening testing pool. Please be aware that this diagnostic testing opportunity is limited to FCPS students, and students should come ready to share their FCPS student ID number.
Inclement Weather - In the event of inclement weather, COVID-19 testing sites will follow school schedules. If schools are closed, testing sites are closed. If schools are delayed, all testing sites will open at 10:00 a.m.
Parents May Submit Child's Vaccination Status
If your child has been vaccinated, you may wish to voluntarily share your child’s COVID-19 vaccination information with Fort Belvoir Primary and Upper Schools. However, we do not require your child’s vaccination information and no school employee will ask for your child’s vaccination status. The only exception is student-athletes, who are required to share their vaccination status to participate in their sport or activity.
If you would like to provide us with your child’s vaccination status, please bring your child’s COVID-19 vaccination card or a photocopy of the card to school. COVID-19 vaccination documentation contains protected health information and should not be emailed.
