Dear Bonnie Brae School Community,
Happy New Year! We hope that all our families have had an enjoyable break! As we return from Winter Break, please make sure you health screen your child before sending them to school on Monday, January 3. If your child does not feel well or presents with any COVID-like symptoms, please keep them at home and seek medical advice. Here is the Daily Health Questionnaire that should be used each morning. Children also should not come to school while awaiting test results or if a member of the household has tested positive. We appreciate your support in keeping the Bonnie Brae community healthy!
There is free COVID testing for students who might be showing symptoms today, January 2. Please note that the location has changed to South County High School. Testing will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This testing should only be utilized by students who are symptomatic, and want to know their health status before returning to school. Please note that this testing is not mandatory to return to or school.
Scheduled appointments will not be available; however, you must register for an account in advance. The building will not be open for use so please plan accordingly. Updates regarding capacity limits will be posted to the FCPS Twitter account and as an alert on the homepage of the FCPS website.
Students and staff should come ready to share their FCPS ID or student ID number. For students, registration will also automatically enter the child in their school’s optional screening testing. Parents/guardians must log in to the online portal after the diagnostic test is complete and withdraw their consent, to remove the child from the weekly screening testing pool.
For regular drive-through diagnostic testing information and schedules starting January 3, visit this website. For information about other testing opportunities in Fairfax County, visit the Fairfax County Health Department’s website.
We are looking forward to seeing our students on Monday!
Sincerely,
Morgan Birge, Principal
Elaine Woo, Assistant Principal
Scott Hawk, Assistant Principal
