Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe that today is the last school day of 2021. What a great year we have had so far!!!! We have so much to celebrate. We were able to come together as a community for events such as the Back-to-School picnic and International Night. We had virtual opportunities such as our PTA meetings and parent-teacher conferences. Our teachers built amazing communities of learners within the classrooms and provided students with learning opportunities to help them grow.
As we say goodbye to 2021 and hello to 2022, I want to thank each and every yellow jacket for all your support. It is through our work together that we can celebrate the first part of the year and continue the journey into the second part of the year.
Please take time over break to celebrate, rest, and enjoy each other. We will be back at school on Monday, January 3, 2022 with open arms and smiles on our faces (under our masks 😊).
Please know that the office will be closed from Monday, December 20, 2021 and will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2022.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or compliments you may have. If you have seen a Clearview staff member going above and beyond fill out an FCPS Cares here.
Have a WONDERFUL break!

THANK YOU CLEARVIEW PTA AND FAMILIES!!!!
We loved ‘soup’er Thursday. It was so hard to choose between all the soups, salads, rolls, cookies, and drinks. Thanks for always supporting us!!!!

Attendance Matters!
Studies show that missing school just one or two days a month, whether excused or unexcused, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. Regular attendance leads to higher achievement in all areas. When your student will be out, please contact the Clearview office in one of the following ways:
By phone: leave a message on the attendance line in English or Spanish:
703-708-6060
By email: ClearviewES.attendance@fcps.edu
By website: scroll down for the attendance form to fill out https://clearviewes.fcps.edu/attendance-reporting
Some attendance policies to keep in mind:
--Ongoing illnesses or medical absences lasting more than 3 days may require a doctor’s note.
--Virtual participation is only for students out for covid-related reasons such as positive diagnosis or quarantine.
--Vacations and family days are unexcused absences. These absences may be approved ahead of time if the parent notifies the office by one of the methods above at least 5 days in advance of the absence.

If you haven't already, please complete the parent/guardian digital consent form for the 2021-2022 school year.
As always, if your student brings their FCPS laptop home, please be sure you student is charging their laptop on a nightly basis, communicate with your students on the importance of maintaining a positive digital footprint and please reach out if you need anything.
Students May Submit COVID Vaccination Status
You may wish to voluntarily share your child’s COVID-19 vaccination information with Clearview Elementary. However, we do not require your child’s vaccination information and no school employee will ask for your child’s vaccination status. The only exception is student-athletes, who are required to share their vaccination status to participate in their sport or activity.
If you would like to provide us with your child’s vaccination status, please bring your child’s COVID-19 vaccination card or a photocopy of the card to Nalei Meness, our registrar. COVID-19 vaccination documentation contains Protected Health Information and should not be emailed.
As always, you are welcome to contact us if you have any questions.
