Dear Lee District Families,
Winter break begins on Monday! I hope you and your family will have the opportunity to rest, relax and recharge.
If you celebrate one of the many holidays this season- I hope you find joy and happiness and get the opportunity to connect with family and friends. My family and I have already celebrated Hanukkah, we will be celebrating Christmas and then again observing Eastern Orthodox Christmas on January 7th.
For me, traditions of the past often add to our celebrations today—for my family— holiday music in the home was a constant. The “sounds of the season” bring back so many memories, and here in FCPS we are fortunate to have amazing music educators creating beautiful music and memories this time of year.
Below you will find a mere sampling of the many performances that recently took place in Region 3. Enjoy these moments! My future newsletters will share opportunities for more awe-inspiring student music concerts in 2022. Hope to see you there!
Happy Holidays! Happy New Year!
Stay well,
Tammy

Winter Break Reminders
Just a couple of reminders for the upcoming winter break.
COVID-19 Testing for Winter Break
FCPS’ diagnostic and optional screening testing sites will not be available from December 18-January 2. Testing will resume on January 3, 2022. If needed, other local providers are available for testing and vaccinations during that time.
Free Rapid COVID-19 Antigen At-home Test Kits Available at Fairfax County Libraries
Fairfax County Public Library branches have become distribution sites for free COVID-19 rapid antigen at-home test kits as part of a pilot program. BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Card Home Test kits are available at each of Fairfax County Public Library’s 13 open community branches and 8 regional branches. Please call your local branch to ensure they have a supply. If you need a test, here is more information.
Quantities are limited. Neither proof of residency nor a library card is required, and the kits are free of charge. ALSO: These tests have an expiration date of the end of December and are therefore meant to be used immediately, not saved for a “just in case” scenario.
Meal Kit Distribution Change for Winter Break
Please note there will be no regular meal kit distribution on Wednesday, December 22 and Wednesday, December 29. Regular meal kit distribution will resume on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
