Students may obtain COVID-19 diagnostic testing at six drive-through sites in Fairfax County. Diagnostic testing is provided for anyone who has symptoms or is identified as a close contact of someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
COVID-19 testing helps us reduce the virus’ spread and keep our schools safe places for all students to learn. I encourage you to utilize our new diagnostic testing services as needed.
Appointments are not required for diagnostic testing but families must register in the secure online portal. When you register and provide consent for your child to be tested, they will also be added to Bailey's Upper Elementary School's screening testing pool. If you do not wish for them to be part of the weekly screening testing pool, simply log back into the online portal after your child’s test is complete and withdraw consent.
More information about diagnostic and screening testing, including site locations and schedules, is available on our website.
Many families are finding it stressful and overwhelming to receive a new COVID notification email every time there is a positive case in their child’s school. FCPS has updated our process to provide families some relief.
Once a week, either on Friday or the last day of school for the week, school leadership will share an update if there were any COVID-19 positive cases confirmed in the school that week. The FCPS COVID-19 Health Metrics webpage will still be updated daily for families who wish to know about cases in real time.
There were 0 confirmed cases of Covid-19 this week at Bailey’s Upper.
Students have been working hard to earn Tiger Paws for their class by showing good behavior and kindness throughout the school. Students at Bailey’s Upper have reached the next school wide goal of Tiger Paws to earn our third spirit day of the year! We will celebrate with Jersey/Sports Theme Day next Friday, December 17th. Students may wear team jerseys, sports clothing, or Bailey’s gear to show their school spirit.
