Covid Vaccinations

Once your child has received both doses of the vaccine, please send record of vaccination to Dave Troskey (datroskey@fcps.edu).  He will update the information in SIS and file it in the student's health file. This will help us streamline our contact tracing process.

Lost and Found - Available for Parents to View

We have accumulated a large amount of jackets, hats, sweatshirts, and more in our lost and found!

On December 7th, 9th, 15th, and 17th, our lost and found rack will be outside the main entrance between 8:00am and 4:30pm. If your child is currently missing any items, please feel free to stop by the front entrance to see if the item has made its way to our lost and found collection.

Any remaining items will be donated after the 17th.

Reminders

Window for AAP Level IV (full-time) Referrals to Close December 15, 2021

Parents/Guardians of students in Grades 2-7 who would like their student to be considered for full-time advanced academic programs (Level IV AAP services) may submit the AAP Level IV Referral Form to Chesterbrook’s AART, Amy Vallath ajvallath@fcps.edu, no later than December 15.

The window to submit an AAP Level IV Referral Form is the first day of school through December 15, annually.  Forms for full-time and part-time referrals are available on the AAP Forms Page. No late referrals for Level IV services can be accepted.

Submitting a referral form for AAP Level IV will initiate a process that begins at the local school and is then completed at the central office level. Our school will put together a portfolio that includes multiple data which are considered holistically. At the central office level, a committee of professionals from various schools review materials to determine eligibility for level IV placement.  Eligibility decisions are communicated by early April. Parents may request a copy of the portfolio that was submitted after they have been turned in for central selection by emailing Amy Vallath ajvallath@fcps.edu. Referrals for AAP Levels II-III (part-time services) are screened at the local school.

For more information, there are parent presentations available on the FCPS AAP website (under “Presentations”) that contain information similar to our fall parent information meetings at Chesterbrook.

Laptop Care- It's RESTARTING & CHARGING Time!

FCPS has been pushing many new updates and security patches to school laptops to ensure new policies, filtering and the most recent version of applications are in place. It’s important that students restart their laptops.

A shutdown and then powering on is not the same as a restart.

A RESTART is done by selecting the (1) Windows logo, clicking the (2) power icon, and selecting (3) Restart from the window options.

As a reminder, students in grades 3-6 should take their laptops home in the evening and bring them back to school fully charged. All third through sixth grade students were given a charger at the beginning of the year to support this effort. We appreciate your assistance to ensure our devices our running efficiently!
