Window for AAP Level IV (full-time)
Referrals to Close December 15, 2021
Parents/guardians of students in Grades 2-7 who would like their student to be considered for full-time advanced academic programs (level IV AAP services) may submit the AAP Level IV Referral Form to Tracey Jenkins, AART no later than December 15.

Optional COVID-19 Testing for Students
Registration for optional COVID-19 screening testing is open. Parents and guardians may pre-register their child(ren) and provide consent using the LTS secure online portal.
If you want your child to begin participating in COVID-19 screening testing, you must pre-register your child(ren) and provide consent using the LTS secure online portal.
Optional screening testing for Dranesville students will take place on Tuesdays from 2:00-2:30 at Dranesville. Staff at our school will work with all students to ensure they are scheduled to access COVID testing with LTS during the timeframe they are scheduled to be at our school.
The next COVID-19 screening testing at Dranesville for students registered by Friday December 3rd will be Tuesday, December 7th.
Quarantine Update: Students Resume In Person Instruction on Day 11
Effective, Monday November 15, 2021, FCPS students who are quarantined on or after November 15, 2021 will be permitted to resume in-person following the 10th day of quarantine (Day 11). This is a change from the previous 14 days that was required as part of quarantining.
Parents/Guardians must keep their child at home until one of the following quarantine periods is met:
- 10 days of quarantine, the child remains symptom free AND parents provide a copy of the FCPS pause letter indicating the return to school date; or
- 14 days of quarantine and parents provide a copy of the clearance email from the health department.
New COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics For Children Ages 5-11 Announced
FCPS and the health department are offering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 at ten clinics located at schools across Fairfax County. Clinics will be held after school hours, evenings, and weekends. All children are welcome and a parent or other responsible adult is required to attend with them. No appointment is necessary, and all vaccinations are free. For locations and clinic hours, click here.
