Principals' Message

The Turkey Trot was back and better than ever! We enjoyed spending time with students and families throughout the day as they raced to the finish line. Gunston is truly a special place and we are so thankful for each and every one of you. We hope all students, staff and families are able to enjoy time resting and relaxing over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Level IV Full-Time Advanced Academics

Level IV Full-Time Advanced Academics Parent Information Meeting

A parent information meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, November 30th, 6:00-7:00pm. Ms. Chang will explain the level IV referral and screening process and answer questions about full-time advanced academic services. This meeting is intended for parents and guardians who are interested in referring their child for full-time advanced academic services this school year. Please RSVP using this Google Form by Monday, November 29th at 4pm. A Zoom link will be sent to the email address that you provide in your response.

Level IV full-time advanced academics referral forms are due on December 15th. Forms can be found on the Advanced Academics website.

 

Family Life Education Parent Preview Night

You are invited to attend a virtual evening opportunity to preview the Family Life Education media and lessons and to talk with school staff about the program. The focus for this preview will be the FLE lessons on Grades 4-6. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 1st  at 5:30 PM over Zoom. The link for the preview will be emailed separately.

Calendar Reminder
  • November 24 - 26:  Thanksgiving break (no school)
  • November 30: -Level IV Full Time Advanced Academics Parent Information Meeting 6:00pm - 7:00pm
  • December 1:  Family Life Education (FLE) Preview via Zoom/5:30pm
  • December 7: Fall Picture Retakes
  • December 20-31:  Winter Break.  School will be closed for staff and students
  • January 17:  Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Holiday. School will be closed for staff and students.
  • January 20: End of 2nd Quarter/Two-Hour Early Release. Students will be released at 1:25 PM. (No afternoon pre-school)
  • January 21 & 24:  Teacher Workdays. School will closed for students.
