PTA Meeting
Thank you to all who joined the PTA meeting last week. As soon as they are available the minutes will be posted on the WFES PTA website.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation
Thank you to the Hospitality Coordinator, Katie Abbott, who coordinated a teacher/staff appreciation event on November 11th to show our gratitude for all they are doing for our community: a cup of Bruster's ice cream!
Bruster's Ice Cream, a locally-owned business located in Fairfax at 3903 Fair Ridge Drive, Unit S, generously donated 85 individual servings of their fall flavors--enough for the entire WFES staff! Staff chose from an array of fall flavors: Oreo, Double Chocolate Chunk, Pumpkin Pie Ripple, Caramel Apple Crunch and Strawberry Sorbet. The treat was a big hit at the school, offering a sweet pop to the week!

WFES PTA is proud to be sponsoring the 15th Annual Spelling Bee
The spelling bee is currently scheduled to be held VIRTUALLY on Thursday, February 3 at 4:30pm. Please note that the format (virtual or in-person) and time on February 3rd may be adjusted and will be confirmed closer to the event date.
Similar to past years, bee participation is open to all Wakefield Forest students in grades 3-6.
The first step to participate to register your student by completing and returning the form sent in your child's Thursday folder OR by completing the following online form:

All registrations must be completed by December 10, 2021. Registration confirmation will be provided by email. Parents and guardians of registered bee participants will receive a list of words to study via email. Our school champion will then move on to represent Wakefield Forest in the Fairfax County Spelling Bee.

Holiday Coffee Fundraiser
With the colder months approaching and the holiday gift giving season upon us, we've partnered with a family owned coffee roaster, PapaNicholas to check all your boxes - and help support the WFES PTA at the same time!
They offer a great selection of tasty coffee (Whole Bean, Grounds and Single Serve Cups) as well as Numi Organic Tea. Ordering is easy, and delivery is right to your door. Order for yourself, for gifts and even share the link with everybody you know who loves a good hot beverage.
