Dear Fairfax,

Happy Friday!  With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take this opportunity to express how grateful I feel to be part of such a special community of teachers, learners, and families. I  wish everyone a wonderful holiday with family and friends. As a reminder, we encourage our entire community, students and staff, to take next Wednesday through Sunday off--with no large assignments given just before the holiday and due in the first few days afterwards.  We all need the time to rest, relax, and recharge over the Thanksgiving Break.

A reminder that the deadline to submit nominations for the FCPS Outstanding Employee Awards is November 23, 2021. To submit a nomination for a Fairfax High School Outstanding Employee, please complete the nomination through the Google link HERE.  You may nominate an employee in one or more categories. All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a paragraph or two about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work in the criteria for that category. The google form link has more information regarding the criteria for each of these awards and the eligibility requirements.

Best regards,

Maureen

Fairfax Lions Need to Know:

Academic Letter

Fairfax HS is excited to announce that 675 current FHS students earned a 3.8 or higher GPA during the 2020-2021 school year!  At Fairfax High School, this honor is being recognized by the PTSA and Student Services office on Tuesday, November 23.  Students who earned this recognition will receive a certificate, an academic letter or patch as well as a small breakfast treat.  Electronic passes were sent to student fcpsschools.net accounts.

Prearranged Absence

Students who will be absent for multiple days in a row must complete a prearranged absence form and have it approved by their administrator.  The Prearranged absence form can found at this link or be picked up in the Attendance Office (L103), or The Sub School Offices (A114, D127).   Upon completing the form, students should turn the form into their Sub School.
