Good Morning Parents and Families,

We began the second quarter with a re-emphasis on our school-wide expectations of respect, honesty and kindness. We are so appreciative of several students and staff members who shared their perspective surrounding these important characteristics. You can check out the video here.

We were excited to begin movement in Panther Block yesterday, where several students were able to participate in various enrichment opportunities to include: Microscope Club, New Ways to do School, Service Club, School Newspaper, Science and Mastermind Clubs. Students and staff were excited and energized to begin these new learning opportunities and look forward to providing updates along the way. A reminder if your student was interested in one of these activities, there will be additional opportunities afforded throughout the school year.

I am always excited to showcase the many wonderful things taking place here each day, and this week is no exception as you can read in the features below. Please continue to reach out if you need something. I appreciate your continued support and partnership.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Meredith Norris
Principal

Portrait of a Panther

Even in a short week, our students began the 2nd quarter on a bright note. Several of our students were featured in a video this week around respect, honesty and kindness and did a great job. Others did an outstanding job answering questions in their classes.

Artwork Around the Building Feature
The art students collaborated as a small table group to create a design in the style of Keith Harring to visually communicate and promote positivity and acceptance. Using oil pastels, students created bright positive paper murals to distribute around the school community, each group selected their placement choice. In the 1980’s, Keith Harring produced hundreds of public drawings in rapid rhythmic lines in the NY subways spreading positivity. Check out their final projects from our talented art students  in the link above!

Family and Consumer Science Students make PJ Pants Feature

Just in time for the cooler weather...our students in Family and Consumer Science had a great time the last few weeks making their own pajama pants. Students were able to pick out their own fabric to find the perfect style/fit for them.
