C'ville School News 11-03-2021

Wildcat Families,

Thank you for a great first quarter!  It is hard to believe, but as students return to school today, we will be starting the second quarter.  Thank you for partnering with us and continuing to encourage your student to stay fully engaged in school.  Don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teachers, counselor, or administrator if you have any questions or concerns.

Report Cards

First quarter report cards will be available in SIS on November 13.  Remember, because we use the rolling gradebook (yearlong cumulative gradebook), the quarter grade is simply a snapshot in time of student performance as of Oct 29.  For more information about accessing your SIS ParentVUE account to access grades and other information please see this website.

2nd Day Added for Late Buses

Thursdays have been added to our late bus runs (along with Mondays) for students to stay after for school activities, additional classroom help with teachers, etc.  Late buses now run on Mon and Thurs after school.  The buses are boarded at 4:45 and there are only 6 bus stops so please let your student be aware that the drop-off will most likely be at another road.  The bus schedule is posted in the front office.  Your student must have a bus pass signed by the teacher/sponsor who they are staying after with in order to get on the bus.

Impact Aid Forms

The Student Parent survey for Federal Impact Aid has been distributed to all FCPS families.  For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey by November 5th.  Thank you!

Early Dismissal Procedures

Parents may report an absence at this website, or by calling our 24/7 attendance line at 703-802-5419, or by submitting an email to CentrevilleHigh.Attendance@fcps.edu. If you plan to pick up your student prior to dismissal, the parent/guardian should call the attendance line in the morning (or at least one hour before requested dismissal time). The student needs to go to the attendance office and pick up the pass before their dismissal time. The student can then meet their parent/guardian out front of the school without having the parent/guardian enter the school to check out.
