Bonnie Brae Family Learning Sessions - Student Wellness 


Bonnie Brae is excited to offer families an opportunity to meet and learn with members of our Mental Health Team on Monday, November 1 from 10:00am - 11:00 am via Zoom for a Family Learning Session with a focus on Student Wellness. Our team is offering several sessions for families to learn strategies to support their children at home. Each session will be approximately 20 minutes and families will have the opportunity to attend two sessions. We look forward to connecting with families on Monday. Below is a preview of the sessions being offered by our own BBES staff.

Mindfulness at Home

Come learn about mindfulness strategies and how you can utilize them at home with your kids. We'll be sharing some different mindfulness techniques, resources, and at home activities.

Positive Reinforcement at Home

Grace Sizelove, School Psychologist

Learn more about positive behavior supports and positive reinforcement tools that can be used in the home setting.

Media Balance and Well-Being at Home

Erica Demick, School Based Technology Specialist

This Media Balance & Well-being session will provide key points, guiding questions, and links to resources to help parents/caregivers plan for healthy and balanced student technology use.

Come learn strategies and books that promote helpful conversations at home to support your child socially and emotionally.

Helping your child embrace challenges through growth mindset

Kids face challenges at home and in school each day. The language we use can have a significant impact on how students respond to challenges. Come learn some phrases to help your child embrace challenges and develop a growth mindset.

As a reminder, Friday, October 29, is the last day of the first quarter, and a two-hour early release for students. Also, schools are closed for students on Monday, November 1, and Tuesday, November 2, for teacher work days. See the complete 2021-22 school year calendar.
