IMPORTANT INFO & EVENTS
End of Quarter
- Friday, October 29 is the last day of 1st Quarter (this will be a two-hour early release). StudentVue and ParentVue will be closed from 10/29 4:00pm until 11/13 at 6:00am to allow teachers to input 1st Quarter grades.
- Monday, November 1 and Tuesday, November 2 are Teacher Workdays; there are no classes for students on these days.
Underclassmen Picture Retake Day
- Retake day for grades 9-11 is this Wednesday, October 27. Please note that this is the only make-up day. Students should go to the Dance Room to have their picture taken.
Deadline Approaching! Senior Baby Ads
- Deadline: November 8, 2021

Expunge Deadline: Friday, October 29
- In accordance with the Virginia Board of Education regulations, FCPS Regulation 2408 permits parents of students who take a high school credit-bearing course in middle school to request that the grade be omitted from the student's high school transcript and the student not earn high school credit for the course. Parents must make this request in writing no later than the end of the first nine weeks of the school year following completion of the course. The form to make this request, along with the process for making the request, is available at: Request to Expunge High School Courses Taken in Middle School or through your student’s school counselor. Parents are strongly advised to discuss this decision with their student’s school counselor and the impact of expunging a course on desired high school diploma type and standard and verified credit requirements.
Attendance Reminder: Late Arrivals
- There are two parts to making sure a student is excused for a late arrival:
- Parents need to call the attendance line about the late arrival AND
- Students need to check in at the attendance office when they arrive.
Winter Clothing Drive
- The Madison High School/JMHS PTSA winter clothing drive starts November 3! Please consider signing up to support Madison students in need of winter clothing. Donations may be brought to the Madison High School main office starting Wednesday, November 3 through Monday, December 13. Donation drop-off times are weekdays from 8am-4pm. An additional weekend drop off time is on Saturday, November 20 from 12pm-1:30pm in front of Door 11 during the ESOL Giving Day. Sign up here to donate.
