As a reminder, Friday, October 29, is the last day of the first quarter, and a two-hour early release for students. Also, schools are closed for students on Monday, November 1, and Tuesday, November 2, for teacher work days. See the complete 2021-22 school year calendar.
Storybook Character Spirit Day
October 29
Celebrate your favorite book by dressing as your favorite character on Friday, October 29th! Costumes should be school appropriate and should not obscure students’ vision or movement. Masks and toy weapons are not permitted. The only handheld props should be your books!
Classroom Monitor
Little Run is looking to hire a Classroom Monitor to help provide supervision of students, throughout the school day, in classrooms, at lunch & recess, during specials. The pay is $15.73 per hour and does not include benefits. If you are interested or would like more information, please email Monica Mohr at memohr@fcps.edu.
Sub and Save the Day!
FCPS and Little Run need substitute teachers. Substitute teaching is a great opportunity for stay-at-home parents, retirees, college students, and anyone who wants a flexible work schedule. We are looking for kind and caring substitute teachers to ensure our students continue to thrive when teachers need to be out of the building. If you are interested in substitute teaching, you can set parameters for the days you are available, the grade levels you would like to teach, or the schools where you want to assist. AAP Level IV Referral and Screening Information Session
Mrs. Hitchcock, our AART will host a virtual meeting on Tuesday, October 26th at 7 pm. This meeting is for families of students in grades 2-6 who would like to learn more about the AAP Level IV referral and screening process. Student Rights & Responsibilities Parent/Guardian Signature
The Student Rights and Responsibilities document (SR&R) explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable and supportive school environment. Changes to the 2021-22 S&R include:
- Edited language throughout the document to reflect gender neutrality.
- A new section entitled Notable Changes for Students and Parents that highlights changes in the SR&R from last school year.
- Restructuring of the Rights and Responsibilities Chapter with student rights prominently featured.
- Language that further defines interaction of law enforcement and students.
- Additional terms in the glossary to increase understanding.
The SR&R Parent/Guardian signature sheet is due by October 29. More information about the SR&R is available online.
