Hello Shrevewood Families,
As we close out our Digital Citizenship Spirit Week, we want to thank everyone for their participation! We also want to make sure all families are aware of a website called Common Sense Media. This website is a resources for families that provides reviews of movies, books, apps, and games, as well as helpful articles and tips for helping students navigate the digital world. Check it out here!
As you consider purchasing devices for your students at home, there are many resources out there to help. Here are a compilation of many resources that you might find helpful.
The key to helping our students stay safe and make good choices in the digital world is having a shared responsibility between home and school! Thank you for being a support to your children!
Katie and I would also like to thank you for your continued support of our school. During the Armchair Fundraiser we were able to raise over $18,000 for Shrevewood. We are so excited to be able to use these funds to support instruction for all students.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Joshua DeSmyter, Principal
Katie Vandawalker, Assistant Principal
Beginning on October 13, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.
Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the boxes in Section 3.
All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 5. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.
Learn more on from this video.
Parents and Guardians please review this year’s SR&R document online click here.
Print copies are not yet available, and we will have a limited supply for those who request a paper copy. To request a paper copy, please email Katie Vandawalker, Assistant Principal (kmvandawalke@fcps.edu).
We also encourage you to review the Quick Guide that provides summarized information specific to the elementary level.
After reviewing these documents, please complete the acknowledgement form in SIS Parent VUE. If you need to create a Parent VUE account, please click here.
If you would like to complete a paper version of the acknowledgement form, please click here, print, sign and return to school by October 29, 2021.
Thank you!
