In support of our commitment to safety, FCPS will begin optional COVID-19 screening testing for students the week of November 8.
Routine testing is a highly recommended strategy to reduce COVID-19 transmission and keep our schools safe. Following recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, at least 10% of students who are not fully vaccinated and have parent/guardian consent will be randomly selected for weekly testing.
Parent/guardian consent is required for students to be part of the testing pool. We will share more information about how to submit your child(ren)’s vaccination status and how to OPT-IN to testing soon.
Test results will be kept confidential. Parents/guardians will be able to review results through the secure vendor portal. Parents/guardians may select an option to share their child’s test results with FCPS. Sharing results with FCPS is optional. More information about COVID-19 testing in FCPS can be found on the FCPS website.

Mask Up!
Masks are an essential tool in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and protecting those unable to be vaccinated. Research shows proper masking is the most effective mitigation strategy to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in schools where social distancing may not be possible and vaccination may not be available for all. Masking is adequate to prevent transmission in situations with less than three feet of social distance and on full-capacity buses.
Therefore, masks are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, inside FCPS buildings and on buses.

Dress as your favorite book character! It could be a fairytale or fantasy- just have fun with it! You can bring the book to show your idea! Remember this is not to celebrate Halloween, it is to celebrate books. Please dress appropriately for school. Thank you and have fun!
Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid
Last week, students brought home Student-Parent Survey forms for Federal Impact Aid. Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
- For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school.
- If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the boxes in Section 3.
- All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 5.
- All results are CONFIDENTIAL.
