Fun on a Friday night! A special thank you to our PTA for sponsoring the event!
Dear Flint Hill Family,
What an incredible month October is turning out to be!
This past Friday, our PTA sponsored Pumpkin BINGO, and there were nearly 300 falcons present! To keep the excitement going, the Town of Vienna Halloween Parade is rapidly approaching. When you click on the link, you might notice some familiar faces in their advertisement! Will you be there, too?
Parents, you and your falcons are invited to join in the procession on October 27th, beginning at 7 pm. The theme is "The Roaring Twenties," and we are currently putting together our Art Deco inspired float. We hope that you consider joining us for this festive event! More information will follow as we near the big day!
Warmly,
Dr. Jennifer Hertzberg, Principal
Mr. Ross Baker, Assistant Principal
Ms. Stout has provided a sneak peek of our yearbook cover! Thank you to our cover artist, sixth grader Sydney Scott!

FCPS Solicits Public Comment on K - 8 Science Basal Instructional Resources Under Consideration for Adoption
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is soliciting public review and comment on basal instructional resources under consideration for K - 8 Science. A basal resource review committee composed of community members, administrators, and teachers will meet in November and December of 2021 to review and recommend new K - 8 Science instructional resources to the School Board. Citizens are encouraged to review materials under consideration and complete the online public comment form so that valuable community feedback may be shared with the School Board and committee as part of the review process.
K - 8 Science basal instructional materials may be accessed online October 14th through November 14th. Digital materials for public review and comment are available here.
We continue to highlight learning experiences that support the acquisition of Portrait of a Graduate attributes and skills across our community and Google classrooms.
#Communication, #collaboration, and #criticalandcreativethinking are key when planning a vacation! Real like skills are evidenced in math across fifth grade classrooms!
For more information on Portrait of a Graduate, ask your child how they are a communicator, collaborator, critical and creative thinker, goal-directed and resilient individual, or ethical and global citizen. Or, click here!
