Dear Cub Run Families,
This week, we welcomed back the tradition of the Cub Runathon! The event was so much fun, and it never could have happened without the efforts of our Cub Run families, staff, and students. While News You Choose posts are normally sent out on Wednesdays, the Cub Runathon deserves a post all its own.
Special thanks to the "heavy lifter" volunteers who put in hours of work leading up to, and including, the day of the event:
- Christina Black
- Meredith Carr
- Graise Lee Jenni
- Ari Khloehn
- Suzanne Leonard
- Loan Prayoonto
- Jordan Railsback
- Kacie Sisowath
- Catherine Stewart
- Kristin Ta
We also had parents who volunteered to come in well before school began to set up and/or who stayed all day, including:
- Sage Constanzo
- Bonnie Donnelly
- Hayden Doyle
- Stephanie Flory
- Carissa Kootz
- Erin Lorenc
And that's not all! We had 103 parents sign up to volunteer at the event, and even more came by to cheer (including several grandparents)!
P.E. teacher Mr. Dofflemyer worked his usual magic in helping everything to run smoothly, and the teachers and staff cheered on our students each step of the way. Many staff members tweeted out photos of the day, where even masks couldn't hide our Cub Runathon joy.
And finally...our Cubbies! They worked hard to complete the course, finishing under a balloon arch and a spray of refreshing water before heading to the snow cone stand. Special thanks to our 6th grade Photography Club members, who enthusiastically captured the event for the yearbook, and to Cub Run parent and Photography Club sponsor Rebecca McGonigle.
Thank you to everyone whose fundraising efforts exceeded our $30,000 goal! After the challenges of the past two school years, it filled our hearts to once again feel a sense of Cubby community on a large scale.
Warm regards,
Natalie Lorenzi
Principal
Many thanks to our School-based Technology Specialist, Maggie Brown, for this photo collage!
