Mark your calendars! The “Book Character Bus Tour” is coming to a neighborhood near you soon! On Saturday, October 29th between 10:00am - 12:30 pm, some of our Glen Forest staff members and I will be traveling on school buses throughout the neighborhoods to come read to our students and to hand out books for them to keep at home and enjoy with their families. A detailed itinerary will be sent home in the Tuesday folder next week! We hope that you and your student(s) can come enjoy listening to stories and to receive a book to keep!

Progress Reports
The 1st quarter ends on Friday, October 29, 2021. Progress reports will be available online for parents to view via your ParentVue account on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Paper progress reports will be sent home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

Family Food Market
GFES will host its 1st Family Food Market for this school year on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 ~ 5:30-7:00 pm. This year it is a contactless food market where families can drive up and pre-boxed/pre-bagged groceries will be placed in your car. Please watch your emails for all future Family Food Market dates.

The annual GFES Scholastic Book Fair will be held the week of October 25 - 29, 2201. Students will be attending the Book Fair in our library during school days that week. We encourage students to shop for and purchase books of their choice for pleasure reading. Due to Covid protocols, we are not able to have a Parents’ Night nor allow parents to attend the Book Fair during the school day this year. Reading is so important and we hope you will allow your child(ren) to participate in this Book Fair.
Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) Membership
Please consider joining the GFES PTO Today! Family membership is only $25.00 per family. Your membership dues and donations help pay for:
- Teacher Support – funds for classroom supplies, decorations, games, etc.
- Field Trip Transportation
- School beautification
- Teacher appreciation
Your membership dues provide you with:
- Concession discounts at PTO-sponsored events
- Early registration and discounted cost of PTO-sponsored after-school programs
