We hope you all have a great time at the Homecoming Dance tonight! It was great to see everyone participating in Spirit Week last week and at all of our Homecoming Festivities. Here are a few reminders for the dance tonight:
- No tickets will be sold at the door
- No bags bigger than a purse/clutch will be permitted and all bags are subject to search
- If you are bringing a non-Annandale student you MUST have submitted the guest form by October 8th, 2021 or they will not be allowed into the dance
- Outside food & drink may not be brought into the dance
- Food will be available for purchase
- “Doors” open at 8 pm
- Absolutely NO ENTRY after 9:30 pm
- The dance ends promptly at 11 pm and students should have transportation home prearranged to be off campus by 11:15 pm
This upcoming week we have plenty of home events to come out and support. The fall sports seasons are quickly coming to an end, so be sure to come out and cheer on the Atoms before the season wraps up. Check out the schedule below to see what we have going on this week. Don’t forget to look for “Green Day” workouts for our off-season sports too!

Atoms Athletics Highlights
Our cheer team has been cheering our Atoms on all season long! Now it’s our turn to cheer them on. Come out and support the team at Hayfield on October 12th & 16th for the District Tournament.

Club Highlight - GSA
The Gay Straight Alliance is holding their first meeting this Friday, October 15th. Come join them in Room 108 at 3:20pm to learn more about the club and what they’re all about!
Marching Atoms 2021
The Marching Atoms participated in the Herndon High School VMBC Nova Regional Competition on September 25th and received and overall rating of 2nd Place. The Marching Atoms also participated in the Spotsylvania Knights Under the Lights Invitational on October 3rd and received 1st Place in the categories of percussion, visuals, general effect, music, and band overall. The Marching Atoms will be competing at the USBands Annapolis Invitational at the Naval Academy's Memorial Stadium on October 23rd.

New Vaccination Policy for Athletes
Annandale Families,
Starting November 8, students who are 16 years or older are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a medical or religious exemption on file in order to participate in Virginia High School League (VHSL) winter and spring sports for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year.
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination will also be required for participation in any other activity that requires a physical. This includes dance team and step team, as well as out-of-season practices and workouts. Unvaccinated students 12-15 years of age must provide a negative COVID-19 test weekly to participate in team activities.
Annandale is now accepting proof of vaccination or qualified exemptions for students.
Proof of vaccination is provided by showing the student’s vaccination card to Activities Office. Please drop off a copy of the card as soon as possible.
Medical exemptions must be submitted through a letter from the student’s doctor, on the doctor’s office letterhead, stating the student has a medical condition that prevents them from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Students who are not receiving the COVID-19 vaccine due to documented health or medical reasons will be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test every week. Religious exemptions must be submitted using the Commonwealth of Virginia Certificate of Religious Exemption form and must be notarized. Students who are not receiving the COVID-19 vaccine due to religious reasons will be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test every week. Proof of vaccination or exemption must be submitted by November 1, 2021.
Weekly testing will be required for unvaccinated students 12-15 and those who qualify for medical or religious exemptions. The test will need to be either a rapid test or a PCR test. Home testing using over-the-counter testing products will not be accepted.

COVID Reminders
Athletes and Parents - Every athlete must fill out the pre-activity form each day. Save the QR code to your phone. When you enter the building, you must wear a mask. Masks are not required for outdoor events. Please bring a 32 oz. water bottle to practices and games. Stay home when you feel sick. All Volleyball fans must wear a mask!
