Dear Wakefield Forest Families,
We are enjoying the change of the leaves as we enter into fall. Please make sure your child dresses for the weather as we will eat outside and have outdoor recess when we are able to. We ask that you please check to ensure that you have extra masks for your children in their backpack as we are seeing more and more broken masks during the day.
Yesterday we honored Indigenous Peoples' Day. Indigenous Peoples' Day is a holiday that celebrates and honors Native American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures. On October 8, 2021, U.S. President Joe Biden became the first U.S. President to formally recognize the holiday, by signing a presidential proclamation declaring October 11, 2021 to be a national holiday.

Fall Portraits - Wednesday, October 20 |
Strawbridge Studios will be taking individual school portraits at Wakefield Forest on Wednesday, October 20. Photography set up will follow social distance guidelines. The photographers will be wearing masks the entire time as well as cleaning any touched surfaces and using hand sanitizer often.
Sign up to receive updates via email regarding your child's school portraits. These updates include promotions, additional deals, and the ability to order more pictures at a later time. When entering student information, parents should be sure to enter the student's name as it is on file at the school.

Students Rights and Responsibilities |
The FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities document explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable and supportive school environment. Parent/Guardians can acknowledge receipt of the SR&R in ParentVue in your child’s SIS account or sign the Parent Signature Sheet to acknowledge that you have received this document. If you have not done so already, please e-sign through ParentVue or return the signed signature sheet to your child's school by October 29, 2021.
