Virtual Asynchronous School Day for Grade 9 Students

All FCPS high schools are administering the PSAT/NMSQT and SAT School Day on October 13, 2021.  On this day school staff will be supporting the administration of these tests for our 10th through 12th grade students. Therefore, on Wednesday October 13, 2021, 9th grade students will receive asynchronous virtual learning. These asynchronous high school transition activities will focus on the Academic and Career Plan (ACP), which will support students in planning towards graduation and their postsecondary goals. While these activities will not be graded, participation is highly encouraged.

9th grade students will specific instructions for accessing these lessons through their Schoology accounts on Tuesday of this week.

Please note that ninth grade students with disabilities taught on an adapted curriculum (Category B services) will continue to receive in-person instruction with a 2-hour early release on October 13.

Under the Stars 

Langley’s Homecoming 2021 will be held on October 16th from 8:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. in the Courtyard and Langley Hall.

Tickets are $20.00 each and being sold though MySchoolBucks until Friday, October 15th.  

Masks will be required when inside the building.

Due to Covid restrictions related to the dance being held in both Langley Hall and the Courtyard, only current Langley students may attend.


FCPS Laptop Information 

Please encourage your student to fully charge their FCPS laptop every night and use this laptop daily in school.  FCPS student laptops are sent weekly updates and are forced to restart to receive the updates.  A FCPS laptop that is not frequently used may be several updates and forced restarts behind and may experience issues when it is used again. Any student that is experiencing an issue with an FCPS laptop or application can find more information on support here.


2021 World Languages Credit Exam

The 2021 World Languages Credit Exam will be administered on November 16 (Robinson SS), 17 (Centreville HS), and 18 (Edison HS). Thirty languages will be included: American Sign Language, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Mandarin), Farsi, French, German, Greek*, Hebrew*, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Nepali, Pashto, Portuguese*, Punjabi, Russian, Sanskrit, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Telugu, Tigrinya, Turkish*, Twi, Urdu, and Vietnamese.  *Greek, Hebrew, Portuguese and Turkish will be offered by the Writing Proficiency Test by Language Testing International.

Please have your student see their school counselor to register for these exams. Registration closes on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 3 p.m. Late registrations will not be accepted.
