School Portraits
School portraits were taken on September 13th, and student images are now online!

If your child was absent or you are not pleased with the portrait, we will have a make-up day on November 12th.

Lunch News!
We are expecting our 2nd tent to arrive next Monday! Parents are welcome to come to school at your child's scheduled lunch time if you wish to have lunch with your child only in our outdoor tent.
The tents will be located in the front of the school. Parents should ring the doorbell and the office will release your child to you for lunch. You can bring a lunch from home, or your child can go to the cafeteria first to pickup a school lunch.

National Custodian Day
We celebrated our wonderful Custodial Team on Tuesday with cards from our students and treats to thank them for the amazing job they do keeping our school shiny and extra clean for our students.
Thank you Mrs. Jenkins, Mrs. Amaya, Ms. Flores Recinos and Ms. Hernandez Rubio for all you do for Deer Park!

Federal Impact Aid Survey
The federal presence in our area and the significant tax exemptions available to federally connected personnel, businesses, and agencies has qualified Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to be eligible for federal Impact Aid grants.

FCPS Needs School Bus Drivers
New Incentive - New drivers will receive a $3,000 signing bonus of $1,500 after consecutive employment of 90 workdays, and $1,500 will be given after the first 180 working days (paid school days) if the driver receives a satisfactory yearly evaluation and is recommended for continued employment with FCPS Office of Transportation Services.

Bucky's Fall 2021 FUN RUN!
Congratulations!! We have earned OVER $23,000, 90% of our goal, and STILL have 2 more weeks of our fundraiser!! WAY TO GO DEER PARK!!!
On Wednesday, our principals wore chef hats and served lunch for our whole school reward!

TOMORROW (Friday, 10/8), dress as your favorite book character day for another whole school reward!
Masks are still required. Character masks do not count as a face covering in lieu of the face mask.

Next THURSDAY, October 14th at 3:00 p.m., our Principals and Teachers will be pied in the face!! Here are the winners based on a random drawing of the students who earned $100 or more by 10/5. |

Bucky's Fall Festival
Join us for the 2nd Annual Bucky’s Trunk or Treat and Fall Festival on October 29th from 6-8 PM in the Deer Park Parking Lot and Gym. We will have trick or treating, music, food trucks, and Obstacle Course/Carnival Games when purchasing a $5 wristband. PTA Reflections Art Contest
Do you enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then join us and have fun unleashing your inner artist with the PTA Reflections Art Contest! This year’s theme, “I Will Change The World By...,” calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts. Check out the information sent home in your Thursday folder or go to the Deer Park PTA web site for details on how to enter the contest. All entries are due by Thursday, October 21, 2021.
