Note from Dr. Goodloe:

Dear Rocky Run Families and Students,

We have been enjoying the crisp fall air in the mornings and the gorgeous weather as students participate in outdoor PE and break activities.  It continues to bring joy to our staff to interact with our students and see them engaged not only in class activities, but also in our after school program. All students are encouraged to seek out opportunities to find clubs and activities they enjoy as part of our after school offerings.

Welcome to new staff:

Amy Frost - Public Health / Covid Tracking Assistant

Sherri Kuffel - Student Monitor

Fran Legendre - Student Monitor

Mari Thomason - Student Monitor

Anna Vardanyan - Student Monitor

Reminder - Please no item drop offs!

We recognize that students sometimes forget lunches, water bottles, laptops, personal electronics etc. Students have access to free lunch, breakfast and after school snacks daily.  Additionally, if needed, students can request a water cup/bottle to access water throughout the day.  Loaner laptops are also provided to support student learning.  Students also have access to the phones in the main office if they need to call home.  Please refrain from dropping these items off as it is challenging to get them to students during the day and also disrupts class time.

Don't forget to start sending a sweatshirt and sweatpants with your student for PE. Students will go outside most days even well into December.  Thank you for your help and support!

It was a pleasure engaging with our PTA board and many families at our first PTA meeting of the year on September 23.  The Rocky Run Middle School Parent Teacher Association is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization. PTA's mission is to promote the educational success and overall wellness of every child at Rocky Run MS by encouraging strong parent, family, and community involvement.  Please join the PTA at https://rockyrunms.memberhub.com/  Our meetings will be virtual this year and will alternate between morning and evening times.  Next meeting: October 13 (PM) - Zoom link will be shared ahead of the meeting.

I have appreciated hearing from many families with positive feedback and suggestions to improve our school operations. I welcome your questions, suggestions, and feedback. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
