Sometimes, the smallest things are special. This little chipmunk was scurrying in the grass close to the first grade windows this week.

Mask Up!

Every student at Weyanoke should arrive at school each day wearing a well-fitted, secure mask over their nose and mouth. All students should also have at least one clean spare mask with them at school. Masks should be laundered or replaced after each day of wear.

Your check is welcome

We recognize that occasionally a parent may inadvertently overdraw a checking account and a check may be returned by your bank. In order to recover these funds in a private and professional manner, Fairfax County Public Schools has contracted with CHECKredi, a company based in Lexington, Kentucky, for collection of returned checks.

Each check written to the district should be on a commercially printed check with your name, address, and telephone number. When a person writes a check to the district, the person writing the check agrees that, if the check is returned that it may be represented electronically on the same account, and that the a $30.00 fee established by law, in addition to the face value, may be debited from the same account.

CHECKredi will contact you by mail and by telephone in order to make arrangements to pay before attempting to represent the check electronically. Payments may be made to CHECKredi’s office by mail, to P.O. Box 11848, Lexington, KY 40578. Payments of the check and fee may be made online at www.checkredi.com using a credit card, debit card or electronic check, without any additional fees. For a convenience fee, payments may be made over the telephone at (800) 742-2925, by credit card, debit card or electronic check.

PTA News

PTA

Thank you to all who attended our PTA meeting last week!  We had a great turnout and truly appreciate the support.

Kids are welcome at the meetings! We had many kids at the last week’s, everything went very well, and they were even able to contribute to the conversation.

We hope to see you all again, and even more people, at the next meeting.

We would like to announce our new Secretary Tsehay (Sunny) Gebissa!  Thank you very much, Sunny, for volunteering to serve on the PTA Board.  We look forward to having you and are certain your work will make a huge difference for Weyanoke and its students.

Direct Donation Drive

100% of the money goes to the Weyanoke PTA to fund field trips, assemblies, and other important school activities, like Trunk-or-Treat, Family Fun Night, Spelling Bee, and Reflections.

This is where the PTA gets MOST of its money to fund these great activities!

Donations can be sent to the school in the Donation Envelope or through the Online Portal: https://weyanokepta.square.site/ (while your there you can join the PTA as well!).

  • Running from October 1 – November 30
  • If every student gets $10 from 5 people, would raise almost $30,000
  • We encourage you to ask your employer to match your donation
  • Donate/bring in donations for your child to have a chance to win a prize in our end of the year raffle!
